Hisaronu & Ovacik

Only 15 minutes from Fethiye town centre, Ovacik and Hisaronu are surrounded by stunning mountains and lush green pine forests. The once sleepy villages of Hisaronu and Ovacik have combined to create a lively resort which has a distinctly British atmosphere. The nearest beaches are the famous lagoon of Oludeniz also the pebble and sand beach of Belcekiz. A dolmus (small bus) leaves every five or ten minutes.The village has an array of bars, restaurants and shops. This is certainly the place to haggle for any replica designer goods. The cool mountain air can be quite a relief after a day in the sun and there is plenty to do in the evenings. Ovacik is only a 5 minute drive from Oludeniz Beach and is the neighbouring village to Hisaronu. Ovacik village is spread out in a big valley just below Babadag Mountain - hence there is not a resort centre as such, most of the accommodation is situated within walking distance to the main road and Hisaronu village centre.There are beautifully landscaped hotels with views over the valleys, luxury villas with swimming pools, good choice of apartments and self catering accommodation. Ovacik is a good alternative to Hisaronu village - if you are looking for relaxing holiday. a day in the sun and there is plenty to do in the evenings.

Uzumlu

This is the beautiful and relaxed mountainous village of Uzumlu (Grape Vine). Uzumlu has managed to retain all the natural charms and characters of a traditional Turkish village. Fethiye

This harbour town with the ancient name of Telmessos is populated by 50.000 people. It is surrounded by turquoise coloured seas with a beautiful mountainous backdrop. Dry, long, hot summers and short,warm, rainy winters are climatic characteristics of Fethiye. The temperature which is around 86-105F (30-40 C) during the summertime is usually above 50F (10 C ) in the wintertime. So you can comfortably swim in these turquoise coloured waters for nine months of the year! The town itself has everything from a rich and varied holiday to a great living experience. A wealth of historical and cultural sights; Pinara, Patara, Xanthos, and Tlos to name but a few. Natural beauties are also close by such as Saklikent. The famous beach of Oludeniz and then great shopping and dining out, every kind of water sports imaginable and the best paragliding in Turkey are some of the unique features of Fethiye. Furthermore, on Tuesday, there is a weekly bazaar, the largest in the area for buying fresh vegetables and fruits from the villagers, also finding every type of clothing. The closest airport to Fethiye is Dalaman, the journey takes less than an hour. Direct charter flights from nearly every UK airport is available between April and October, besides available all year round from Manchester and Gatwick. Alternatively there is Antalya airport which is a 3 hour drive from centre. The Council Office, Courts, Tax Office, water, electricity & Telekom offices, along with all the major banks and ATM machines are based in Fethiye. There are also many supermarkets, furniture shops, a fresh fish market, cafes, restaurants and bars to sample. Calis Beach

This is another unique part of Fethiye where you will never regret being in. Calis is famous for its sea turtles ‘ ‘ caretta carettas’’ and irresistable sunsets appearing astonishingly over the bay. It is situated in southwestern Turkey also being the closest beach to Fethiye town centre. One can drive from Dalaman in 40 minutes to this beach resort and only a 5-10 minute drive will bring you to Calis. Although night life here is fairly low-key, you will find a good selection of cocktail bars, a couple of discos, restaurants and bars along the 4 km long stretch of beach. As Calis can said to be a promenade both for locals and foreigners, there is a considerable range of hotels, boarding houses and campsides.
